A 74-year-old North Mankato man lost his life Sunday when his bike and a semi truck collided at Highway 14 and County Road 6.
Ralph J. Polzin was riding west on on Highway 14 when the accident occurred. Dennis L. Harms, 46, of Mankato was driving the 2007 Freightliner swest on Highway 14 and slowing when he saw the bicyclist in the right turn lane for County Road 6.
Bicyclist Polzin turned left in front of the semi and was struck, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Responding to the call were the state patrol, Brown County Sheriff's Office, Nicollet County Sheriff's Office, North Mankato Police Department, Nicollet Fire and Rescue, Gold Cross Ambulance and Mayo 1.
Harms was not injured.
