Police make felony warrant arrest
A 27-year old Elk River man, who was a patient at the Community Addiction Recovery Enterprise (CARE) in St. Peter was taken into custody by St. Peter Police on January 20 on a Minnesota Department of Corrections warrant.
At around 2 p.m. that day St. Peter Police were contacted by a Department of Corrections official about an active arrest warrant that was issued for Davis. They told police they believed he was residing at the CARE facility in St. Peter.
Officers made contact with officials at the CARE facility who confirmed Davis was there and they took him into custody later that day without incident.
Davis was convicted in Anoka County on felony third degree criminal sexual conduct and had gotten out on parole in December 2011 but was now wanted on a violation of that parole.
In other police news:
• Rosenberg Amaro Garza, 18, of St. Peter was cited January 23 for no Minnesota driver’s license.
At 12:19 a.m., police stopped the vehicle Garza was driving after the officer recognized him from previous contact and that he didn’t have a valid driver’s license. A check with dispatch confirmed he did not have a license so a stop was made.
• Taylor Bert Fawley, 18, of Rhinelander, Wis. and Hannah Joy Michael Jergenson, 18, of Willmar were cited January 22 with underage consumption of alcohol.
At 2:37 a.m. police stopped the vehicle Fawley and Jergenson were passengers in after it was observed with too heavily tinted windows in the rider and front passenger side windows and that the rear license plate was obstructed by snow. Both tested positive for having consumed alcoholic beverages.
• Hassan Sheikh Ahmed Mohamed, 28, of Hopkins was cited January 21 for driving after revocation and speeding.
At 11:12 p.m., police stopped the vehicle Mohamed was driving for going 47 in a 35 mile per hour zone on Minnesota Street near the Union Street intersection. A check on his record indicated his license was revoked.
• Robin Joy Larson, 52, of St. Peter was cited January 21 for suspicion of driving while impaired.
At 7:41 p.m. police stopped the vehicle Larson was driving after it was observed weaving from side to side and rolling through a stop sign at the intersection of South Fourth Street and College Avenue.
She showed signs of intoxication and failed several field sobriety tests. An Intoxilyzer 5000 test later indicated she had a blood alcohol content of .15.
• Anna Rose Schwingler, 19, of Eden Prairie; Allison Laura Renneke, 19, of Eden Prairie and Meishon Swanson Behboudi, 19, of Edina were each cited January 22 for underage consumption of alcohol.
At 2:09 a.m., police stopped the vehicle those three were passengers in after an officer observed the vehicle turn onto College Avenue from the Gustavus Adolphus College campus without its headlights turned on.
All three tested positive for alcohol consumption through a preliminary breath test.
• A criminal damage to motor vehicle report was received January 22 from Sunnyvale Apartments (1800 block of North Fifth Street).
The victim reported someone had keyed their vehicle while it was parked in the nearby parking lot. A possible suspect is being investigated.
• John Douglas Jaquette, 29, of North Mankato was cited January 21 for suspicion of driving while impaired as the result of his involvement with a motor vehicle accident St. Peter Police investigated at 11:29 p.m. on Highway 169 near mile marker 69.
• Damien Lee Childers Baker, 23, of Nicollet was taken into custody on January 17 on a warrant that was out on him from Blue Earth County.
At 6:20 p.m., police were investigation a report of an underage drinking party on the 200 block of South Minnesota Avenue. In the process of identifying the occupants of the residence at the time they located Baker who it was determined had an active arrest warrant. He was taken to the Nicollet County Jail and later transported to Blue Earth County.
• A theft report was received January 17 from the 800 block of Ronell Street.
The victim, an 18-year old male, reported a package that had been delivered by UPS had to his doorstep had been stolen. UPS records indicated their delivery person had dropped the package there at 9:22 a.m. that day, but the victim’s mother had been home over her lunch break and there was no package there.
The package contained a pair of Dr. Dre’ “Beats” headphones which were valued at $200. There are no suspects at this time.
