Ice slidin'

Ice slidin'

Dean, Lilie and Parker Sund are flanked by their dogs, Otis and Olive, as they slide down the icy South Elementary hill on Sunday afternoon.

Light drizzle and temperatures hovering around 29 degrees created slippery and fast sledding conditions.

Mary Natwick and Paul Jirik created a game of skill and distance. A sledder getting through the first set of cones at the bottom of the hill earned one point. Getting through both sets of cones netted three points. Natwick was winning big, and the stakes were loser does the dishes.

About a dozen brave sledders were conquering St. Peter's favorite sliding slope at 4 p.m. Congruent comments were voiced about welcome snow after a mostly warm, dry winter.
